JCC begins work on updating plans for Adams, Boxborough, Braintree, Dalton, Hardwick and Hinsdale.

The initial contract, awarded in 2022 included 14 communities listed below:

Looking forward to developing Local Hazard Mitigation Plans on behalf of MEMA selected communities.

Our team is looking forward to providing new and updated Hazard Mitigation Plans for cities and towns in Massachusetts. We plan to use a focused, cost-effictive, and team-based approach to develop these plans. Each plan will include a list of realistic mitigation actions and Mitigation Action Tracker to ease implementation. Each plan developed will include activities to maximize Community Rating System Activity 510 credits. All Environmental Justice Communities will be included in the planning process.

North Reading, MA Hazard Mitigation Plan

MEMA forwarded North Reading's, MA Hazard Mitigation Plan Update to FEMA Region 1 without required revisions.

We're proud to have developed a third Hazard Mitigation Plan for the Town of North Reading. The 2021 Hazard Mitigation Plan Update includes a comprehensive range of mitigation actions. These were developed by considering previously identified actions, the projects recommended in the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Plan and the updated risk and vulnerability assessments.

Four Tribal Plans FEMA-Approved in 2021

Jamie Caplan Consulting developed plan updates for four plans we previously developed for the Barona Band of Mission Indians, the Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians, the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, and the Pala Band of Mission Indians.

Maui County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

Jamie Caplan Consulting is underway updating the County of Maui's hazard mitigation plan. The update will focus on increased stakeholder engagement including the island of Moloka'i and the remote community of Hana. A draft plan is scheduled for review in summer 2020.

Working with Fuss & O'Neill, we have collaborated to conduct an MVP program experience and a Hazard Mitigation Plan for the City of Pittsfield and the Towns of Lexington and Dighton. Through the MVP process communities prioritize actions that enhance climate change resiliency with consideration for local infrastructure, environment, and society. This effort coincides beautifully with the mitigation planning process. Jamie Caplan Consulting has developed a system to streamline the process for local governments interested in both projects. This process limits the amount of city employee project fatigue by using their time effectively.

FEMA approves Tribal Plans: Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians Mitigation Plan and the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians of California

FEMA approved the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians and the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians Hazard Mitigation Plans on their initial review. The North Fork Rancheria is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Torres Martinez Reservation is located in Coachella Valley adjacent to the Salton Sea. Each tribe faces the threat of wildfires, drought and high winds.

SCRCOG Awards Jamie Caplan Consulting Multi-Jurisdiction Plan Update

SCRCOG Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan Update will include 14 South Central Connecticut Municipalities.

The South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) awarded Jamie Caplan Consulting LLC a contract to update and expand the current Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan. The updated plan includes the ten original municipalities and expands to include four more, East Haven, Guilford, Milford and New Haven.
