Mitigation Planning
We have developed materials for FEMA to support mitigation planning and truly understand the meaning behind the guidelines. We have also written many FEMA approved plans for local governments, state governments, universities and tribal governments.
Our cost-effective mitigation recommendations will maintain or enhance the natural and built environment of your community as well as the quality of life. Our recommended strategies will also foster local resiliency to disasters and identify and respond to community concerns and issues. We take into consideration all natural and man-made hazards as well as induced or multiple hazard situations. After gathering essential data, including information regarding demographics, critical facilities, and hazard history, we will conduct a thorough hazard risk assessment using Hazus. In addition, we conduct public meetings which are essential to the mitigation process. Following this, we will write an All-Hazard Mitigation Plan that, when implemented, will accomplish the following tasks:
- Reduce the impact of physical, social, emotional and economic damage due to disasters;
- Meet FEMA requirements and enable a community to receive funding for mitigation projects;
- Engage the community members and utilize their input.
